How it works
This is an example of how Charlie can use IT’S IMPORTANT!
Charlie sets a PING for 7 am every day. The message is simple: “If you’re ok, tap here.”
Every day, Charlie gets a PING at 7 am and taps the mobile phone … until one Monday, Charlie gets a PING at 7 am and doesn’t respond. Following is what happens:
At 7 am Tuesday morning, Charlie will get another PING (not the regularly scheduled PING, but rather an alert PING).
If Charlie doesn’t respond to the alert PING by 8 am Tuesday, Charlie’s Key Designee gets a PING asking:
“Hello from It’s Important! You are Charlie’s Key Designee. Charlie did not respond to his regularly scheduled PING. If Charlie is ok, please reply “1.” If Charlie is getting or requires medical attention, please reply “2.” If Charlie is deceased, please reply “3.”
If the Key Designee replies, “1” the system resets and Charlie will get the next regularly scheduled PING.
If the Key Designee replies, “2” all designees who Charlie authorized to get medical records, insurance and end-of-life information will receive an email and text that they now have access to that information of Charlie.
If the Key Designee replies, “3” the Key Designee will be prompted to upload a death certificate. Nothing else will happen until a death certificate is uploaded and a member of our team confirms the authenticity of the death certificate, at which point all designees will be notified that they have access to the information that Charlie had authorized.
If the Key Designee doesn’t respond by 8 am Wednesday, the Key Designee will get a second PING at 8 am Wednesday. If Key Designee doesn’t respond by 9 am Wednesday, the Designees get PING’d.
The message to all of the designees is the same as the message to the Key Designee. The reply of the first designee to respond will control unless subsequent responses from designees conflict, in which case a member of our team will be notified of the conflict to look into the matter and resolve the conflict.
A response by Charlie that Charlie is ok at any time before the Key Designee or any Designee responds resets the system.
At any time docs are being made accessible, the Designee to whom the docs are made accessible will get both a text and an email with the access link.
